How to submit application

To proceed with application, the procedure is different depending if you hold (or are in the process of obtaining) a Bachelor Degree at the University of Pisa or not.

1. Procedure for Students Graduating at the University of Pisa

a) Graduating Students

You may submit your application at the same time as your bachelor graduation request.

b) Graduated Students

If you already hold a bachelor degree at UniPi, log in the Ammissionelm portal and select:

  • “Immatricolazione standard”, if you have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;

  • “Trasferimento d’Ateneo”, if you are currently enrolled in a degree program at another Italian university;

  • “Abbreviazione di carriera”, if you already hold a master degree.

You do not need to upload qualifications already obtained at the University of Pisa.

You may upload further relevant documents to support your application (e.g., self-certifications of degrees or exams taken at other universities, language or IT certifications). Self-certifications must be signed.

2. Procedure for Graduated students at other Universities

If you graduated at another university and wish to enroll in our Master’s program:

  1. Register on the Alice portal

    • Enter your personal information

    • Upload a passport-size photo in the “Upload Photo” section

    • Upload a copy of your ID in the “Identity Documents” section

    • Enter details of your high school diploma and degree (if available) in the “Academic Qualifications” section

    • Upload a copy of your residence permit (if applicable, ex art. 39, para. 5, Legislative Decree 286/1998)

    • Non-EU students residing abroad must first register on www.universitaly.it and follow the pre-enrollment procedure as explained on the University of Pisa website

Important: Do not select a degree program in the “Choose Your Program” section – Master’s programs are not listed. Your application must first be assessed by the relevant Program Board.

  1. Access the Ammissionelm portal using your Alice credentials and choose:

    • Immatricolazione standard, if you have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;

    • Trasferimento d’Ateneo, if you are currently enrolled in a degree program at another Italian university;

    • Abbreviazione di carriera, if you already hold a master degree.

You will be required to upload a signed self-certification of your degree listing all exams with the syllabi, the credits (ECTS), and the subject areas (SSD). Additional documents such as language certifications or transcripts from previous studies may also be uploaded in .pdf format in a single file.

Enrollment Confirmation

After your application is approved, confirm your enrollment by:

  • Paying the first tuition installment by December 31, 2025;

  • Uploading a scholarship confirmation;

  • Uploading disability documentation (for full or partial tuition waivers) in the Alice portal under “Declarations of Disability”.

If your application evaluation is still pending as of December 1, 2025, you may confirm enrollment within 30 days from receiving the result.

Until your enrollment is confirmed, you cannot:

  • Take exams;

  • Apply for tuition reduction.

Enrollment is finalized when:

  • Your personal preparation and curricular requirements are positively verified;

  • For University of Pisa students, the day after your degree is awarded (if application was submitted during graduation request);

  • For other students, on the date of payment of the first installment or documentation submission for exemption;

  • If you completed a Transition Course or took a required test, on the date all requirements are met and in any case by December 31, 2025.

After this date, your enrollment will be postponed to a.y. 2026/2027 and re-evaluated according to the programs offered for that academic year.

Please note: Any courses taken to meet entry requirements (e.g., via a Transition Course) cannot be recognized again for credit in the Master’s program.
